Important Update on COVID-19

The following is a statement from Pioneer Library System:

Starting Saturday, March 14, 2020, the Pioneer Library System (PLS) will suspend the option of placing holds in OWWL. This means neither library staff nor patrons will be able to order library materials from another member library. Additionally, PLS will suspend delivery services which will result in no movement of library materials between member libraries until further notice. PLS will reevaluate this stoppage of service on Friday, April 3, 2020, with guidance from local and state government agencies.

This plan of action was made with the health and safety of our system staff, member libraries staff, and library communities as a top priority. We thank everyone for their patience and understanding as we respond to rapidly growing COVID-19 concerns.

What does this mean?

Beginning Saturday 3/14, our library system, for the health and safety of our library community, has suspended the ability to place holds. A decision will be made on 4/3 about whether to continue the stoppage on holds.

During this time, at the Lima Public Library, we have increased our dedication to thorough hand washing practices, cleaning surfaces and materials in the library, and encourage staff and patrons to stay home if they’re feeling unwell.

We are dedicated to responding appropriately and serving you, our community, in the best way possible. More information to follow.

Stay well, library peeps.
