We are proud to announce that, as of January 3, 2023, we are fine-free!
All of the materials checked out at the Lima Public Library (except our Empire Passes and National Warplane Museum Passes) will no longer accrue late fines. Any existing fines have been removed.
Library experts have conducted numerous studies to find that any fine, no matter how small, creates a barrier between low-income individuals and all of the resources a library offers. We believe that libraries are for everyone and that money should not be a barrier to all that we can provide.
We ask that you still you return your materials in a timely manner. There are two reasons: 1) we still want to see those materials come back and 2) as a courtesy to your fellow library users. There will still also be fines for lost or damaged materials.
