SUMMARY:Friends of the Lima Public Library: Book Binding Techniques - Introductory Course
DESCRIPTION:Susan Doran is a graduate of RIT\, a working graphic artist and spent 20 years in a school district gives her the experience to share her favorite crafts.  She is an accomplished artist and teacher.   In the Bookbinding Workshop\, we will work on a variety of binding styles which may include the following styles: the accordion fold\, matchbook\, perfect bound\, pamphlet stitch\, stab binding\, post and leather binding.  Tools and basic supplies will be provided.  Ideas and questions are encouraged. \nDate: September 30\, 2023 \nClass Time: 10 a.m.to 12 noon \nLocation: Lima Public Library Scutt Room \nPre-Registration Required: This adult class is limited to 6 people/ session.  Pre-registration is required by sending a check for $18 to Friends of the Lima Library\, PO Box 283\, Lima\, NY 14485 by September 16\, 2023 with the form below.  The cost of the session includes all supplies and instruction.  This class is sponsored by the Friends of the Lima Public Library. \nClick here for registration form.

DESCRIPTION:Mr. Alati has volunteered an hour of his time to come help anyone age 16+ learn some basic car maintenance. Adults that want a refresher or are learning the first time are welcome too.\n\nMr. Alati has 51 years of experience in automotive repair with the last 31 teaching high schoolers hands on skills with the HF-L BOCES program.\nThis first session will be checking and changing tires. No registration required.\n\nNOTE: This event is weather dependent. Be sure the check the Friends’ Facebook page the night prior to this event to make sure there is no inclement weather. An alternate date may be offered if necessary.
